What makes it special

This may well be the most influential non-Punjabi restaurant in India. Many of the dishes we now regard as standards, such as the biryani served in individual serving dishes, each covered by a wheat purdah which is then ceremonially sliced open at the table, were created here. This is Indian haute cuisine with a menu that is mainly Awadhi but with some Hyderabadi influences.
